Teachers and staff of the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), the country’s first private university, have decided to donate one day’s salary to support flood victims. This decision was made during an emergency general meeting held on Saturday, chaired by IUBAT Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdur Rab.
The meeting highlighted the importance of standing by those affected by the recent floods. The teachers and staff of IUBAT expressed their solidarity with the flood victims, agreeing to contribute their earnings for one day to provide much-needed assistance.
IUBAT, established in 1991 by academician Professor Dr. M Alimullah Miyan, has played a significant role in human resource development through higher education. The university has a history of community involvement, and this initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to social responsibility.
Located in Sector No. 10, Uttara, Dhaka, IUBAT operates from its own permanent campus, known for its green and pleasant environment. The university has consistently been at the forefront of educational and social initiatives, aiming to positively impact society.
This contribution is expected to provide some relief to the flood victims, as many areas have been severely affected by the recent floods. The teachers and staff of IUBAT hope that their support will encourage others to come forward and help those in need during this challenging time.
The decision to donate one day’s salary demonstrates IUBAT’s commitment not only to education but also to the welfare of the community. The university continues to be a model for other institutions in both academic excellence and social responsibility.
