The International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) organized a seminar titled ‘Awareness Building Against Sexual Harassment’ on Tuesday, November 13, 2024. The event was held at IUBAT’s conference room, aiming to promote a safe and respectful environment within both academic and professional settings.
Advocate Kamrun Nahar, a notable member of the organization Naripokkho, attended the event as the chief guest. IUBAT’s Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Mohammad Mahmudur Rahman, and Treasurer, Professor Selina Nargis, were present as special guests. IUBAT Vice-Chancellor Professor Abdur Rab presided over the seminar, demonstrating the university’s commitment to raising awareness on this important issue.
Dr. Farzana Sultana, an associate professor at the College of Agricultural Sciences and chairperson of the Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee, welcomed participants and emphasized the importance of fostering a harassment-free environment. She highlighted the role of awareness in preventing harassment and creating a respectful culture across campus.
The seminar concluded with remarks by Dr. Ferdous Ahmed, an associate professor in the Department of Environmental Science and a committee member. He reiterated IUBAT’s dedication to maintaining a safe and respectful space for students, faculty, and staff.
The seminar was attended by department heads, directors, coordinators, and faculty members from various departments, all committed to promoting safety and respect at IUBAT. The event forms part of IUBAT’s ongoing efforts to create a safer and more inclusive campus environment.
