IUB-HYD Model United Nations (MUN) was held at Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) from 19-21 September, 2019. The programme was organised by School of Business in collaboration with House of Youth Dialogue (HYD) and School of Business Communication Club.
MUN is widely regarded to be one of the most valuable Extracurricular activities by schools, colleges and universities locally and globally. MUN conferences replicate the sessions held at the United Nations and the participants at IUB HYD Conference were divided into different committees to nurture knowledge and logic. During the three-day event, participants engaged in constructive discussions relating to environmental, security and stability issues.
Member of Parliament Sheikh Sharhan Naser Tonmoy attended the closing ceremony and distributed awards among participants. Vice Chancellor (acting) Professor Dr Milan Pagon, dean, Professor Dr Mohammad Aminul Karim and Registrar, Brigadier General (retd) Md Anwarul Islam along with Heads of Departments, Faculty Members and other guests attended the closing ceremony. The speakers focused on the need for students to participate in extracurricular activities and prioritise building analytical skills alongside with nurturing their academic skills.
