The Islamic University in Kushtia is going to reopen the evening courses programme under various disciplines soon over the pressure of IU Teachers Association.
University authority took the decision on Tuesday at its 116th Academic Council held at the conference of administrative building of the university.
IU vice chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari presided over the AC meeting while registrar in charge SM Abdul Latif attended as secretary with pro-vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha were present here.
The university authorities will resume the evening courses under the upcoming session keeping some conditions on it for the agreed departments.
The condition includes having sufficient teacher of the department, taking two day class in a week instead of a day, must ensure punishment for cheating and coping in the examination hall as like as existing students and no department can reopen the courses who has season jam more than one years.
A monitoring cell was formed to monitor each department of the university, sources added.
Earlier, The Teachers Association of Islamic University (IUTA) raised the demand in their second general meeting held on February 25 to reopen the evening course programme of the university.
Besides, October 2 last, the university banded the evening courses in its 242nd syndicate meeting considering the demands of students of the University.
