The authorities of Islamic University in Kushtia have decided to join uniformed entry test system with other public universities. The decision was taken from 116th Academic Council of the university chaired by IU vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari held at administrative building on Tuesday.
The proposal will be sanctioned thorough syndicate meeting while the 245th syndicate meeting of the university will be held on June 29, said IU registrar SM Abdul Latif.
Pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha, deans, chairmen and Professors of various faculties and departments were took part at the AC meeting.
IU vice chancellor Dr Askari confirmed ‘Our University wants to take part under unified admission test system due to reduce the hassles of admission seekers and their guardians.
Earlier, President Abdul Hamid suggested holding public university admission tests centrally or regionally known as ‘Cluster Admission System’ on November 2016. But, His (President) suggestion have been opposing by some reputed public universities as its implementation would cut the income of the universities as well as teachers form invigilation, checking of answer scripts and the sale of admission form.
Besides, the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) agreed first for holding intake tests under unified admission system while Islamic University took the decision as second among the public universities.
