The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia suspended its all administrative activities aiming to prevent the spread of ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) on Saturday. All official activities of the university will remain closed from March 22 to March 31, confirmed by IU registrar in charge SM Abdul Latif.
The decision came from the 259th emergency Syndicate meeting held at VC’s bungalow around 4:00pm headed by vice chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari.
IU pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha, and among others syndicate member attended the meeting.
Earlier, on March 16, IU suspended all academic activities and residential halls from March 18 to March 31 after the government took the decision to close all educational institutions.
