A group of students of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia have been on hunger strike till death demanding Engineering Technology degree soon under their respective faculty since Tuesday morning.
Over 100 students of five departments of the faculty including CSE, EEE, ACCT, ICE and BME department were holding the protest on the premises of MA Wazed Mia Science Building on the campus.
The university authorities have introduced three new faculties by reorganising its 12 departments on November 18 last while the newly lunched degree have been certified only for first year students.
The agitating students declared that they will continue the strike till the death if the authorities don’t pay any heed to their demand. During their protest on Tuesday, they locked dean office of engineering technology faculty.
