A student of Islamic University (IU) was critically injured after being attacked by a group of miscreants at Aruppur bus stand in Jhenaidah sadar upazila on Thursday.
The victim was identified as Moshiur Rahman, student of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering department, academic session 2018-19, resident of Lalon Shah Hall.
It was learnt that, he was waiting for the university bus to return from Aruppur to his campus at around 7:15pm on Thursday. Two local groups were fighting at that time. When the clash was ongoing, some people attacked him, thinking he was a member of the opposite group.
Later, locals rescued him and sent him to Jhenaidah General hospital.
Md Sahin Uddin, Officer-in-Charge at Jhenaidah Sadar Police Station, said we still have not received any complaints regarding this matter. However, necessary actions will be taken if a complaint is filed.
