IU holds seminar on ‘Tagore’s aesthetics thoughts’

A seminar on ‘Rabindranath Tagore’s aesthetic thoughts’ was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday. IU English department organised the seminar at room-206 of Rabindra-Nazrul Arts building at noon.

IU English department Prof M Mizanur Rahman presented an article on the aesthetic thoughts of Rabindranath Tagore at the event with department chairperson Prof Mossamad Salma Sultana in the chair. Sazzad Hossain Zahid, an assistant professor of the department, conducted the seminar while Prof M Maher Ali, Prof Miah M Rashiduzzaman, associate prof M Sabbir Ahmed, Prodip Kumar Adhikari and Prokash Chandra Biswas were, among others, present on the occasion.

Around two hundred students of the department participated in the seminar. While addressing the seminar, Mizanur Rahman focused on Tagore’s aesthetic theory so that the students are able to gather knowledge about Tagore’s basic aesthetic concepts and apply them in literary analysis of texts.
