IU gets heads for eight offices

The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia, have appointed new heads for eight offices. The university has appointed new provosts for four residential halls, a new director for the Institute of Islamic Education and Research (IIER), a new director for the Finance and Accounts division, a new transport administrator, and a new student advisor.

Eight separate notifications signed by the acting registrar, H M Ali Hasan, on Sunday, in this regard.

According to the notification, Professor Dr Abul Kalam Azad of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering department has been appointed as the new provost of Saddam Hossain Hall. Additionally, Professor Dr A K M Shamsul Haque Siddiqi of Arabic Language and Literature department has been appointed as the provost of Sheikh Hasina Hall,  Professor Dr A K M Rasheduzzaman of Al-Quran and Islamic Studies department as the provost of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, and Professor Jalal Uddin of Electrical and Electronic Engineering department as the provost of Begum Khaleda Zia Hall. The previous provosts resigned last Saturday, and the Vice-Chancellor appointed them newly for next one year. They will receive all benefits as per the rules during their tenure.

Meanwhile, Professor Dr Farukuzzaman Khan of the Computer Science and Engineering department has been appointed as the new director of the university’s IIER. He will serve in this position for the next three years.

Professor Dr Yeaqub Ali of Al-Quran and Islamic Studies department has been appointed as the university’s transport administrator. Additionally, Anar Pasha, the deputy director of the Finance and Accounts division, has been appointed as the new acting director of the department. They will hold these positions until further orders.

However, Professor Dr Obayedul Islam of Arabic Language and Literature department has been appointed as the student advisor for the next one year.
