The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia launched five new vehicles on Sunday. IU vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Shaikh Abdus Salam inaugurated the vehicles in front of the university's administration building as the chief guest around 11:00am.
Prof Dr. Kazi Akhtar Hossain, Convener of the vehicle purchase committee presided over the program while Pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr. M Mahbubur Rahman presented here as a special guest. Professor Dr. Anowar Hossain, Transport Administrator of the university Conducted the program.
Acting registrar H.M Ali Hasan, IUTA President Prof Dr. Mizanoor Rahman, Secretary of IU Bangabandhu Parishad Prof Dr. Mahbubul Arfin, IU BCL unit president Faisal Siddike Arafat and secretary Nasim Ahmed Joy and among others were present at the occasion.
According to the transport office, 'Three new buses for students and two ac-micro buses for teachers have been purchased with the funding of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and University Grants Commission at a cost TK 2cr for mitigating the transport crisis of the university.'
