The Geography and Environment department of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia, is going to organize a day-long event on June 05 (Wednesday) to celebrate the upcoming World Environment Day 2024 under the slogan “Our land Our future, We are Generation Restoration.”
The department has launched public events where people from all spheres can participate to show their awareness and responsibility towards environmental conservation. The mega event also consists of three contests namely ‘Photography Contest’, ‘Poster Contest’ and ‘Open Quiz Contest’. Best photos and posters will be awarded with certificates and exciting prizes.
Marking the day, the GE department will organize an environment day rally, campus cleanup, tree plantation, photography exhibition, poster showcasing, quiz contest program, and green talk seminar.
The department specifies the photo theme for photography exhibition, like- land degradation or restoration, environment pollution, climate change impact, green initiative, endangered biodiversity or any relevant topics on environmental concern. For the poster design contest specifying the poster like- land degradation and sustainable land management in Bangladesh, environmental pollution and mitigation, climate change (a silent threat to humanity, green or sustainable energy solutions.

We are call for people to exhibit their environmental thoughts with the world in the contests with no cost. Spread awareness is a part of our green initiative, together we can assure green today and a greener tomorrow, said the department chairman Assistant Professor Inzamul Haque.
