The Islamic University unit of Consumer Youth of Bangladesh (CYB), a volunteer organisation, has announced 51-member executive committee for the next year.
Prof Dr M Maher Ali of English department, chief adviser of the organisation, announced the committee at a function of the organisation on Friday.
Mostafizur Rahman, Masters’ student of Folklore Studies department, and M Shahedul Islam, fourth year student of Law department, were elected as the president and secretary respectively.
The other office bearers are- Abu Yousuf, Nazmul Hasan, and Arman Hossen as vice-presidents, Sajeda Akter Jaly, Mazharul Islam and Azizul haque Miraz as assistant secretaries, Ashraful Islam as organising secretary, Al Amin Hossen as treasurer, Saddam Hossen Jony as office secretary, Naharul Islam as information and technology secretary, Ashikur Rahman as publicity secretary, Biplob Khandaker as media secretary, among others.
Earlier, a training programmee on Leadership Management was held at the 116 No. room of the university central auditorium with Shamimul Islam Sumon, out-going president of the organization, in the chair.
Chief adviser Prof Dr Maher Ali addressed the function as the chief guest while Prof Dr Rashiduzzaman of Bangla department, also adviser of the organization present here as the special guest.
M Salimuzzaman, assistant director of Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection, Kushtia spoke here as the chief discussant while IU Tourism and Hospitality Management department lecturer M Shoriful Islam Jewel and CYB central secretary Sohrawardi Shuvo participated in the programme as the trainer.
