The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia appointed three new directors on Wednesday (23 October), assigning them to the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), ICT Cell, and Press Administration office, respectively.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Nazimuddin from the Al-fiqh and Legal Studies department has been appointed as the new director of IQAC. Professor Dr. Shahjahan Ali from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering department will lead the ICT Cell, while Professor Dr. AKM Mafizul Islam from the Arabic Language and Literature department has been appointed as the new director of the Press Administration office.
An official order was issued separately for each appointment, signed by IU’s acting registrar, HM Ali Hasan. The appointments were made by IU Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah.
According to the official press release, Professor Dr. Muhammad Nazimuddin will continue serving as the director of IQAC until further notice. On the other hand, Professor Dr. Shahjahan Ali and Professor Dr. AKM Mafizul Islam have been appointed to their respective posts for the next year.
After assuming his new role, Professor Dr. Muhammad Nazimuddin expressed his commitment to fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to him. He stated, ‘I will strive to perform my duties with the support of the entire university community, following the university’s mission and vision. I request everyone’s advice and cooperation.’
These appointments aim to improve the efficiency and functioning of these key administrative departments.
