Shakib Al Hasan recently criticized the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), claiming that the BCB’s lack of willingness is to blame for various inconsistencies.

Shakib believes that this situation will be resolved quickly. He claimed that if he were the CEO of the BPL, he would have changed everything in one or two months.

“If I am made CEO of the BPL it wouldn't take me too many days. I think it would take one or two months at most to make everything right. It may not even take two months, even two months seem like too long,” Shakib with a smile on his face Thursday.

On Friday, Bangladesh Premier League governing council members came to a press conference alongside BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury to explain some of the limitations and criticisms of the ninth edition of the tournament.

When the question was posed to BPL governing council chairman Sheikh Sohel, he said the governing council would welcome Shakib as a CEO.

“I welcome Shakib and thank him. If he wants to come as CEO of BPL, he has shown that interest. From the governing council, we welcome him. If he wants he can come and take responsibility as CEO,” he said.

Shakib jokingly responded to Sohel’s invitation on a private television talk show by saying,

“It would be better to be the president than be the CEO,” he told the reporters.

Amid all of this off-field discussion, Shakib hit a firing half-century in his first match but couldn't lead his team Fortune Barishal to vicotry.
