Dhaka city on Friday experienced strong wind along with rain which may continue till Saturday.
Winter has almost come to an end. In the meantime, the people of Dhaka witnessed rain twice in 24 hours.
Strong winds, storms and rain started in the northern region of the country from Thursday night. The sudden rain amid winter has added to the misery of the people.
However, the meteorological office in their forecast had earlier mentioned the possibility of rain at the end of the week.
The sky was overcast with black clouds around 12:30 pm on Friday. After a while, there was a drizzle of rain with strong wind.
The Meteorological Department's forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Friday also included the possibility of rain.
According to the forecast, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and many parts of Sylhet division and some parts of Chattogram division will experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusts. There may be moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the country.
Besides, 30.3 mm of rainfall has been recorded in Dinajpur from Thursday night to Friday morning. There is a possibility of more rain in the next 24 hours, added the forecast.
Meanwhile, it rained moderately in Dhaka on Thursday night. After 6 pm, light to moderate rain was experienced at some places of the capital including Mirpur, Uttara and Badda.
