A two-day long 2nd International Conference on “Innovation in Engineering and Technology (ICIET)” that begun on Monday will conclude today at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium of Dhaka University (DU).
Vice-Chancellor (VC) of DU Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the conference as the chief guest. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology of DU has organized this conference. Presided over by Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of DU Professor Dr Md Hasanuzzaman, the inaugural function was addressed by Professor Dr Khorshed Ahmed Kabir and Chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section Professor Dr Celia Shahnaz.
Professor Akhtaruzzaman urged the academicians, researchers and industrialists to work unitedly on the issues of innovation and technology for achieving sustainable development goals. He stressed the need for equipping our people specially youths with technological knowledge for facing natural calamities and various global challenges. He hoped that outcome of this conference would inspire teachers, researchers and students to undertake collaborative research programmes from a common platform.
It may be mentioned that about 200 academicians and researchers from home and abroad including USA, UK, Canada and Japan are participating in the conference.
