The intern lawyers have demanded that those who have passed the MCQ examination of the Bar Council be given a certificate by listing them as lawyers by publishing a gazette on humanitarian grounds during corona crisis.

The demand was made at a human chain and rally in front of the Rangpur Deputy Commissioner's Office on Sunday morning.

Apprentice lawyer Palash Kanti Nag presided over the human chain while Hafizar Rahman, Abdul Gafur, Arif Hossain, Ratuluzzaman Ratul, Samsun Nahar Kusum and others spoke at the time.

Speakers at the rally said thousands of intern lawyers' lives were being wasted because of the Bar Council's delay in taking exams.

Prior to 2012, 2 examinations were held in a year. Since then, the test method has changed drastically. The lawyers said that this time the MCQ examination was held on February 26 after a long time.

Due to the Corona situation, it has become uncertain when the written and viva exams will take place.

Therefore, they demanded that the MCQ passers of the Bar Council be given certificates exempting them from written and viva exams and announce them as lawyers by publishing a special gazette considering the crisis situation.
