An international seminar on ‘Field Work in Social Work’ was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Wednesday.
Social Welfare department of the university organised the seminar at Birsereshtha Hamidur Rahman auditorium on the campus around 12:00pm.
IU vice chancellor Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari was present as the chief guest with Pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman also the chairman of the department presided over the seminar.
Ashok Kumar Sarkar, a Professor of Social Work department of Vishwabharati University, India and Indranil Sarkar, a PhD researcher of the university addressed as welcome speakers.
IU Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha and dean of Social Science faculty Prof Dr Nasim Banu attended here as special guest while Prof Dr M Mamunur Rahman of English department deliver speech as welcome speaker. While addressing speakers explained the importance of social work in field work and said if we want to handle the fieldwork effectively, social work would be an important tool that is appropriate and responsive to the topical social development.
Meanwhile, another International seminar on ‘Contrast in Operating A Business: Relevance and Substance’ held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Wednesday.
