A discussion was held observing International Mother’s Day at Ukhia in Cox’s Bazar on Sunday.
Ukhia Upazila Administration and Department of Women Affairs organised the programme.
Speakers at the discussion said mother is the most valuable asset in the world. Nothing can be compared with the love of a mother. Mothers raise their children unselfishly. However, many children nowadays consider their mothers a burden. It is a matter of sorrow. In many religious books, the place of parents is set after the Almighty.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Ukhia, Saleh Ahmed, presided over the programme. Teacher Medhu Kumar Barua conducted the discussion where officer of Upazila Department of Women Affairs conveyed the welcome speech.
Ukhia Press Club General Secretary Ratan Kanti Dey, Upazila BRDB official Mehedi Hasan and others spoke as special guests at the programme.
The speakers asked to love and respect everyone’s mother.
