The International Migrants Day-2021 was observed in the district in a befitting manner as elsewhere across the country.
On December 4 in 2000, the UN General Assembly taking into account the large and increasing number of migrants in the world declared December 18 as the International Migrants Day.
On that day in 1990, the UN assembly adopted the International Convention on the protection of the rights of all migrant workers and members of their families.

In the morning, a discussion meeting on the importance of the day was held at the conference room of the Gopalganj Deputy Commissioner (DC) in the town with additional DC (General) Md Iliashur Rahman in the chair. Deputy Commissioner Shahida Sultana attended the function and addressed it as the chief guest while Assistant Director of District Employment and Manpower Office Abu Md. Rezaul Karim, Principal of Technical Training Center Shahidul Islam Chowdhury and expatriate Moniruzzaman, among others, were present on the occasion.
