International Anti-Corruption Day was celebrated in Jamalpur with due dignity and colorful arrangements with the theme 'World united against corruption'. Deputy Commissioner Sravasti Roy spoke as the chief guest. On the occasion of the day, national anthem was played and national and ACC flags were hoisted at the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) compound district office Jamalpur premises at 8:30 am. Later, the procession took out from the ACC office and ended at Bakultala.
A huge human chain was held at Bakultala square. Path Baul Sangeet was performed under the management of the District Corruption Prevention Committee during the human band. A discussion meeting was held at the district commissioner's conference room at 10 am highlighting the significance of Anti-Corruption Day. It was chaired by the additional District Administrator (General) Mohammad Moklechur Rahman. Chief Executive Officer of Jamalpur Zilla Parishad Khandkar Mohammad Abdullah Al Mahmud, Civil Surgeon Dr Pranay Kanti Das, Additional Superintendent of Police Sadar Circle Zakir Hossain Sumon, General President of District Anti-Corruption Committee Professor Masum Alam Khan, General Secretary Jahangir Salim, among others spoke in the discussion meeting. President of Conscious Citizen Committee Ajay Pal, President of District Press Club Fazle Elahi Makam, Editor of Ajker Jamalpur Patrika MA Jalil, District Committee Member Syazad Ansari, Shamima Khan and others.
20 NGOs including 30 government offices, non-governmental organizations Unyan Sangh, World Vision, Progress, Tarang Women's Welfare Organization and more than five hundred people from various professions participated in the human chain. Anti-corruption mobile baul music was performed in the district city on the initiative of District Duprak. Besides, posters were exhibited at Bakultala square.
