Inspiring Positivity in Bangladesh and Beyond

Not many K-pop groups have been able to touch people to the core as TREASURE has. This amazing boy group, born from the reality show YG Treasure Box in 2018-2019, debuted into the global music world on the 7th of August 2020 with their very first single album, The First Step: Chapter One, under the umbrella of YG Entertainment. With the ten highly talented members—Choi Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jaehyuk, Asahi, Haruto, Doyoung, Park Jeongwoo, and So Junghwan—TREASURE, no doubt, maintained an upward trajectory with breathtaking speed and merit, driven by capturing songwriting, electric performances, and genuine fan-artist bonding. TREASURE initially had 12 members but went through an emotional trimming in 2022 after losing two members: Bang Yedam, who left the group to pursue personal interests, and Mashiho, who left due to health issues. It was palpably large, though the rest remained outstanding, chiming very differently with flair and sincerities. When it came to Yedam and Mashiho, the fans were devastated by their departure, which had left an emotional vacancy that rippled through the fandom.

However, what Mashiho shared recently in his Instagram story sent chills of relief and happiness to everyone's ears: he said he and Yedam still keep in touch and keep up with the TREASURE boys, constantly pumping up their energy despite physical separations. Bang Yedam and Mashiho did carry out a solo career with great success, releasing music that showed now different, mature artistry. Bang Yedam made his solo debut with the EP "Only One," including "No Regrets." In doing his interview with Teen Vogue, Yedam expressed that his solo project is a reflection of personal and musical aspired journeys. With that, he shared updates regarding the creative process for his album, focused upon themes of self-discovery and finding strength. Having garnered praise from critics with his solo work representing emotional depth and lyricism, detailing voice and artistic vision individually for Yedam, Mashiho now releases the first solo music after separating from TREASURE. His new music has reached fans across the globe, with smooth melodies and lyrics full of emotions. Mashiho's solo debut is highly praised for how aptly calibrated and really close to his vocals it was.

The magnetic charm or heartfelt music that TREASURE possessed echoed across South Korea, to every corner of the world, including Bangladesh. This tightly closed, impassioned fanbase flourished.  The group fans call themselves Treasure Maker, shortly called Teume. Nabila from Dhaka says that TREASURE just brightens her eyes. 'Some things about their energy and sincerity are so infectious. If each one of them brings a very special something different to the table on his own, then lyrics often full of hope and positivity really resonate with me. To me, songs like 'DARARI' and 'I LOVE YOU' are personal anthems that just pick me up on the darkest days. Treasure's music has been a warm embrace, pumping me up to always have hope and motivation. This applies to the TREASURE Maker community as well; being connected to other people with the same passion has been such a blessing. After Yedam and Mashiho's departure, it literally felt like huge piece of my heart was torn apart, but knowing that they are still bound with the group gave me a lot of comfort. It's a reflection of how deep their bonds are and how real one can care for the others.'

Another fan Zayna's voice is full of charismatic, as she goes on to describe the effect of TREASURE. 'Their music goes beyond languages. It conveys feelings and stories that everybody can relate to, making it very special. Their interaction with fans on social media makes us feel visible and important, even from Bangladesh. I remember me going back to their song "BOY" to keep me focused and pumped up for my exams. I couldn't be more grateful for them then. Hearing the news of Yedam and Mashiho's leaving really broke my heart, no kidding, as Mashiho would be my favorite. But knowing the recent updates that they still keep in contact, it boosted my spirit once again. It’s reassuring to know that their bond remains strong, motivating both the members and the fans.'

TREASURE's lyrics are mainly about self-love, strength, and following one's dreams; thus, they act as beacons of positivity on the earth. 'I LOVE YOU' instills the beauty of selfless love and support, while 'JIKJIN' is an adaptation of a music anthem that helps one pluck up the courage to persevere through calling with much determination. The inspiring messages of such fine lines touch a fine nerve, especially in young fans amidst baking in the struggles of growing up.

The impact of TREASURE stays far beyond the musical sphere. Their social media activity on Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube is helping people from all around the world, different cultures, unite into one big family; what glued was a common interest: TREASURE. This digital connectivity bridges across cultural gaps to create one big and lively fandom under the TREASURE Makers. Thus, the presence of TREASURE in Bangladesh is highly palpable. Beginning with streaming parties and online fan-made projects, the Bangladeshi fans have represented their love and dedication toward the group. Concerts, fan meetings, and offline and online engagements of TREASURE tightened the bonding with fans by letting them feel important and loved.

The turn of events in TREASURE, from a rookie group into a global sensation, tells much about their immense talent and relentless hard work. Their lyrics, full of heart, and their actions are a testament to their calling for positivity, instilling it into the millions of fans worldwide, including those in Bangladesh. As TREASURE continues to rise, the influence will no doubt increase, bringing joy, hope, and inspiration into the hearts of many people around the world
