Injured students from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement protests have made five key demands, including Tk 1 crore in compensation for the families of those affected. They also called for advanced medical treatment arrangements.
At least 100 of the injured are still receiving care at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR). The students are urging the government to publish a complete list of the deceased and honour them as martyrs.
Md Salman Hossain from Government Titumir College presented these demands at a press conference held at NITOR on Wednesday. He emphasised that many injured students require advanced or long-term care and urged the government to address these needs promptly.
While the government has promised free treatment for the injured, some critically ill patients need immediate overseas medical care.
The students also requested that long-term rehabilitation be provided and that the government cover educational expenses and offer special examination considerations for injured students.
