The Adviser of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Nahid Islam on Thursday said
initiatives will be taken to enact media workers (terms of employment) law within the next 100 days.
He came up with the disclosure after the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced the action plan for the next 100 days.
The action plan includes- Initiatives will be taken to make Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar efficient and people-friendly. A documentary film will be produced and broadcast on Bangladesh Television about the martyred and injured students and their families in the July uprising.
Besides, initiative will be taken to form independent media commission. The Ministry will take steps to enact the Media Workers (Conditions of Employment) Act. Besides, initiatives will be taken to enact broadcasting laws. At the same time, initiatives will be taken to rationalize the salary structure of journalists.
Nahid said the news portal of news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) will be updated along with publishing 200 features about the families of the students and people who were martyred and injure during the recent revolution.
He said the main goals and objectives of the anti-discrimination student movement will be promoted at the grassroots level.
