Thathya Apar Seba( Information Sister's Service) has created a lot of excitement among the rural women of Chitalmari and they have welcomed it. With the slogan "Sheikh Hasina's message shows equality between men and women, information shows the way to gender equality", the information service is becoming more and more popular in Chitalmari. Grassroots rural women have welcomed this service of communication with rest of the world at home.
Rural women are taking advantage of information technology to eliminate gender inequality in the society by ensuring the empowerment of women through information technology.
Information Services Officer Murshida Akhter said that they provide information to the women who are deprived of internet facilities. The present government has undertaken this project for the purpose of empowering women through information communication technology with the aim of building a digital Bangladesh, she added.

In the last two and a half years, 25358 women have received free services in Chitalmari Upazila. Of these, 45 Yard Meetings have been held, 18,500 people from door to door and 470 people from Information Centers have received services.
