Bangladesh registered 14 more deaths from Covid-19 till 8am Sunday. The total number of deaths has reached to 27,688 with the latest figure.
The country recorded 481 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,562,359, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.
The death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country. The current positivity rate stands at 2.36 percent and the overall positivity rate is 15.70 percent, added the release.
Among the 14 deceased, three were men, and 11 were women. Seven of the deceased were from Dhaka, two from Rajshahi and one each from Chattogram, Khulna, Sylhet, Barisal and Mymensingh.
A total of 20,355 samples were tested across the country till 8am Sunday.
During this period 699 Covid-19 patients have recovered. A total of 1,523,833 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.53 percent.
As of Sunday 4,864,483 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 238,429,390 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
