Bangladesh registered 14 more deaths from Covid-19 till 8am Tuesday. This takes the total number of deaths to 27,713. The current Covid-19 positivity rate stands at 2.35 pc.
The country recorded 543 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,561,463, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.
The death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country, as per the press release. Around 23,155 samples were tested during this time. Among the 14 deceased, 10 were men and four were women. Among the deaths reported on Tuesday, six died in Dhaka division, four in Chattogram, two in Khulna, and one each died in Barishal and Rangpur divisions.
Around 701 people recovered from the virus during the time. Up until now, a total of 15, 25,168 people have recovered from the virus and the recovery rate stands at 97.55 percent.
As of Tuesday, 4,874,997 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 239,128,312 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
