A daylong training workshop on infection prevention and control (IPC) was held at Moheshkhali Upazila Health Complex on Sunday.
Dr Muhammmad Mahfuzul Haque, Health and Family Planning Officer of Moheshkhali Upazila, presided over the workshop, held under the supervision of Dr Md Arif Hossain, Member Secretary of Cox’s Bazar district IPC Committee and Assistant Professor of Surgery Department at Cox’s Bazar Medical College.
Physicians, nurses and other health professionals participated in the workshop organised by PHD with the financial assistance of the World Bank and in cooperation with UNICEF.
The main objectives of the programme were raising awareness about infectious diseases among health professionals; protecting health professionals and patients against such diseases; and decreasing infections at health facilities.
Dr Imrul Kayes, Medical Officer at Cox’s Bazar Civil Surgeon Office, and Dr Nasrin Akter Rumi, Senior Training Coordinator of PHD, were other trainers at the workshop.
