The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ship Anmol rescued 10 Bangladeshi fishermen found in water of the Bay of Bengal on Saturday.
Search for the remaining two missing Bangladeshi fishermen is in progress by the ICG ships and aircraft, the ICG said in a tweet.
The fishermen had got caught in the cyclonic weather which started on 19 August.
The ICG ship Anmol sighted the 10 Bangladeshi fishermen near the Bhangaduni Island on the morning of Saturday, 20 August.
After rescuing them, they were given first aid and provided food and water.
The rescued fishermen told ICG that they had left Mongla on 16th August and they were caught in cyclonic weather.
Their boat with 12 fishermen on it capsized on 19 August due to gusty winds prevailing in the area.
The rescued fishermen are being brought to Haldia for further formalities to return them back to Bangladesh.
