The Indian government imposed a ban on the entry of passport passengers from Bangladesh to India through Benapole Land Port from today to April 15 due to the coronavirus scare.
The order was issued on Thursday morning through a letter from the Indian Immigration Authority.
Benapole Land Port Police Immigration OC Ahsan Habib told that the order was issued on Thursday morning by Indian Immigration Authority. However, a large number of Bangladeshi passport passengers went to India yesterday morning through the port.
These people staying in India can return to Bangladesh at any time. But, no passport passenger will be allowed to enter India from Today.
Meanwhile, import export trade between Bangladesh and India through Benapole port is still going on. Every day 5 to 6 hundred trucks full of goods are imported and 3 hundred trucks of goods are exported to India through Benapole port.
Special warning was issued at the Benapole port for the coronavirus. From January 25 till now one lakh twenty thousand passport passengers have been tested for coronavirus but the virus has not been detected in anyone’s body at the port yet.
