Outgoing Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das said both Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi were people of non-communal consciousness. India-Bangladesh will move forward in the bond of harmony with their spirit.
She said this to reporters while visiting Gandhi Ashram and Kachari Bari of Rabindranath Tagore at Atrai in Naogaon on Tuesday morning.
She added, India-Bangladesh relations are now going through a golden chapter. The two countries are constantly doing a lot of development work together. This trend will continue in future as well.
“The people of the two countries have a lot in common. As a result, we are succeeding in carrying out various developmental works in coordination with each other,” she said.
She also spoke about the outstanding contribution of these two great human beings in the development of the friendly relations between the two countries.
At the time, she added, terrorist activities and smuggling at the border were one of the reason for border killings and the reason why this is happening is being looked for.
Sanjib Kumar Bhatti, Assistant High Commissioner of India in Rajshahi, Mr. Uttam Kumar Roy, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Naogaon and Moslem Uddin, OC of Atrai Police Station were present on the occasion.
