In-person classes have started in full at all educational institutions across the country from Tuesday.
In-person classes also started at the pre-primary level after two years of closure. Although educational institutes were reopened on September 12 last year, the government decided to keep pre-primary schools closed. Classes at pre-primary level were being held online.
Classes at the pre-primary level will be held on Sundays and Tuesdays only at the moment.
Students had started coming to the schools and colleges in the capital since Tuesday morning. A spark of happiness could be noticed among the students, teachers and parents. Huge traffic was witnessed in and around the school roads since the morning.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) issued instructions on Monday to start classes in full swing in all educational institutions under the Ministry of Education.
According to the directive, in-person classes will continue from March 15 in all the educational institutions following proper hygiene rules till further instructions as the transmission of coronavirus disease has decreased.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni had earlier informed that the class would start in full swing from March 15.
Earlier on January 21, the government announced the closure of all educational institutions across the country due to the increase in coronavirus infection.
In-person classes in secondary and higher secondary schools were resumed on February 22 on a limited scale.
However, physical classes in primary schools resumed on March 2.
