Import and export between Bangladesh and India through Hili Land Port were closed on Thursday on the occasion of India’s Independence Day.
However, immigration of passport of holders was open at that time.
Rabiul Islam Sweet, organizing secretary of Hili C&F Agent Association, confirmed the matter.
He said export and import between the two countries will remain closed according to the demand of Indian businessmen on the occasion of India’s Independence Day. However, import and export operation will resume from Saturday morning.
Officer-in-Charge of Hili immigration check post police station, Sheikh Ashraful, said although the import and export operation were closed, immigration of passport holders was open on Thursday.
