International human rights day was observed in Jhenaidah with a slogan of dignity, liberty and justice for all on Saturday. Organized by Jhenaidah human rights forum, rally and human chain was formed marking the day. The rally started from Old DC Court premises, ended at Pairachattar in the town.
Hundreds of human rights activists, teachers, civil society members and development activists participated with banner, festoon and placard.
Jhenaidah human rights forum president Aminur Rahman Tuku, Department of women affairs deputy director Nilufar Rahman, human rights leader Joarder Sazedur Rahman Fetu, Subrata Kumar Mallik, NM Shahjalal, welfare efforts (WE) director Sharifa Khatun, Tarun Dal leader Rita Sarker, Women representative Hamida Khatun, Haider Ali and Habibur Rahman among others spoke.
The speakers urged upon the people not to violate human rights law and stand by everybody to strengthen their human rights for a just society where the people can enjoy the freedom and liberty as per the provision of the constituency.
They also de`2manded ensure proper implementation of human rights law throughout the country.
