Savar Upazila Administration on Wednesday demolished around 6 to7 illegal structures, which were set up on Bangshi river, grabbing land illegally. The structures were demolished after conducting a drive at Boktarpur area in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital.
Mohammed Rahmat Ullah, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and the executive magistrate of Savar Upazila administration led the drive and confirmed the matter to The Bangladesh Post.
He said, one Muktar Hossain allegedly building a concrete structure based on such information they conducted the drive and around 6 to 7 structures were demolished during the drive which was set up illegally on the river bank. However, no one was detained during the drive who involved with these illegal establishments.
Earlier, Savar Upazila administration though made a list of 65 river grabbers who allegedly set up structures grabbing Bangshi river land, but no development was made to evict them so far except this one.
