Illegal establishments on railway land demolished in Narsingdi

Dhaka divisional Estate Department of Bangladesh Railway evicted the illegal establishments that were built by occupying the land of the railway in Narsingdi.

The eviction drive was conducted in Narsingdi Railway Station area on Monday.

Divisional Estate Officer of Dhaka divisional Estate Department of Bangladesh Railway, Abdus Sobhan, said various illegal establishments including shops were built by occupying the land of the railway. The people were suffering for a long time due to this. The passengers and pedestrians could not see when the trains were coming or going because of the illegal establishments. As a result, the pedestrians were falling victim to accidents as well. For the benefit of the people, illegal establishments from two acres of land were evicted primarily. These shops and establishments that were evicted were not on lease. The land won’t be given on lease in the future as well, he added.

He further said that the eviction drive will continue to evict the illegal establishments on the railway land.

Executive Magistrate of Narsingdi district administration Md Sazzad Parvez and Rafiur Rahman, officers of Railway Department of Dhaka division and members of Railway Police and Ansar were also present during the drive.
