If needed, tribunal will be set for Hefazat anarchists: Hanif

A delegation of Bangladesh Awami League headed by central Joint General Secretary Mahabubul Alam Hanif on Wednesday visited Sonargaon upazila Awami League office at Mograpara and others places in Naryanganj that were damaged by local Hefazot-e-Islam leaders recently.

Mahabubul Alam Hanif after visiting all damaged establishments and injured party men said, “We will find out all the criminals who broke into Awami party office and damaged public properties. We would never tolerate any non-political activities that tarnished the image of democracy. If needed we will set up a special tribunal to punish these criminals.”

The rally was presided over Narayanganj district unit Awami League president Abdul Hai, among others central Awami League organizing secretary Mirza Azam, liberation war affair secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, Narayanganj-4 constituency law maker AKM Shamim Osman district unit Awami League general secretary Abu Hasnat Shahid Badal were present.

It is recalled that Mamunul Haq, central joint secretary of Hefazot-e-Islam was caught at Royal Resort with a lady and then committed scuffle between he and locals, later police rushed to the spot recovering Mamun held to leave Narayanganj. On the information of Mamunul’s besieged condition his fellow ransacked first Royal Resort and later attacked different establishments and people even torched the transports on Dhaka-Chattagram highway at Mograpara area.
