Durga Puja is only a fewdays away. Apart from the locals, artists from different parts of the country come here in different upazilas Headquarters and rural villages to make and paint the idols.
Idol artist Niranjan Paul, of Borantar village under Mohangonj uppazila of the district said that the clay work of the idol has already been complated.
Now, I am working with maximum concentration to make the Idol so attractive and perfect by scraping the paint.
I hope that the making the Idol will completed within scheduled time.
Gyanesh Chandra Sarker, President of Netrakona district Puja Uzzapon Parishad told this correspondent that Durga Puja will be held in 526 puja mandap in five ourasavs, 10 upazilas in the district this year which is 100 more than last year.
Of the total, 56 in Netrakona poura area, 58 in 11 unios of sadar upazila area, 61 in Durgapur upazila, 43 in Mohangonj upazila, 52 in Barhatta upazila, 39 in Atpara upazila, 58 in Purbadhala upazila area, 48 in Kendua upazila, 55 in kalmakanda upazila, 42 in Khaliazuri upazila and only 14 in Madan upazila area.
Anjana khan Majlish, Deputy commissioner, Netrakona said the local Administration has taken all kinds of measures to complete Dirga Puja festival for hidus in the district peacefully.
Fayez Ahmed, Superintendent of Police, Netrakona however said while asked that this year, compered to other years, necessary preparation have been taken to ensure and that there is no deterioration in law and order during the period of Durga Puja festival.
Ansar and village dfence olice will be deployed in each tample or Puja Mandap round the clocks along with police forces to ensure that the devotees can celebrate the joyous festival of Durga Puja.
