All facilities of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) are now available even in remote villages of the country due to the timely steps taken by the present government, said Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque.
Dr Razzaque, also Awami League presidium member, made the statement while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Skill Development Training at Mushuddi Razia College in Dhanbari Upazila of Tangail, joining virtually from the office room of the Secretariat on Monday morning.
The minister said that the use of ICT in all activities around the world is increasing day by day.

“The way artificial intelligence and the use of state-of-the-art technology including robots is increasing, we must keep pace with the world to survive as a nation. The present government has undertaken massive programmes since 2008 to build a digital Bangladesh and expand the use of ICT. As a result, Bangladesh has achieved tremendous success in ICT today, which is being hailed and praised all over the world,” he said.
DrRazzaque further said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has elevated Bangladesh to a unique height in the world in terms of dignity and respect.
“Bangladesh is a role model of development in the world today. The use and facilities of ICT are gradually expanding and evolving,” he added.
According to the Information Technology Department, the ICT Department in collaboration with the private sector has started online BPO skills development training program to build 20,000 students from different universities and colleges of the country as Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) professionals in the next 5 years.
Chairman of Tangail District Council Fazlur Rahman Khan Faruk, Deputy Commissioner MdAtaulGani, Director of LICT Project Tareq M Barkatullah, Policy Advisor Sami Ahmed and Chairman of Golden Harvest Infotech Limited Ahmed Rajib Samdani also spoke during the event.
