A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) was signed on Thursday at CA Bhaban in the city.
The objective of this MoU is to provide access to the Document Verification System (DVS) to the Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) to verify audited financial statements of tender-participants’ (entities) in the Electronic Government Procurement (e¬GP) System.
This collaboration with BPPA would bring positive results in the economy of the country.
The Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) Md Shoheler Rahman Chowdhury and ICAB CEO Shubhashish Bose signed the MoU.
Higher officials of IMED, Ministry of Planning, GoB and ICAB were present in the ceremony. ICAB President Mohammed Forkan Uddin FCA also present in the ceremony.
Under this MoU ICAB shall provide necessary assistance in verifying the authenticity of the audited financial reports filed in the e-GP system for compliance with the rules and regulations of PPA-2006 and PPR-2008.
Bangladesh Public Procurement Authority (BPPA) will use this Document Verification System (DVS) to verify whether the audit report and audited financial statements submitted by the registered tenderers/suppliers in the e-GP system have been certified by ICAB's CoP holder Chartered Accountants.
