International Cotton Association (ICA) President Kim Hanna and Managing Director Bill Kingdon expressed their commitment to reviewing BTMA’s proposals to strengthen the collaboration between two associations.
The commitment was made during a meeting with Showkat Aziz Russell, President of BTMA recently at BTMA Gulshan office.
Md. Shamim Islam, Md. Abul Kalam, and Saleudh Zaman Khan, all vice presidents of BTMA, Shafiqul Islam Sarker, Director of BTMA & ICA and members of the BTMA Board of Directors from the Yarn Manufacturer category were present at the meeting.
The discussion focused on fostering a strong, mutually beneficial relationship between two organizations.
During the discussions, the President of BTMA emphasized two key points: Firstly, both cotton sellers and buyers must ensure the validity of contracts, which requires direct written confirmation from the buyer within 24 hours, typically via email. Secondly, the establishment of a joint BTMA-ICA testing laboratory in Bangladesh was proposed to enhance quality assurance. Hanna and Kingdon expressed their commitment to reviewing BTMA’s proposals to strengthen the collaboration between two associations.
The meeting concluded with a strong sense of partnership emphasizing potentials for future initiatives that will benefit both organizations.
