‘I came to serve, not to rule’

The newly appointed Faridpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Abdul Jalil said he has come to serve the people, not to rule them. Everyone will receive the highest level of service from him.

He came up with the assertion while exchanging views with the journalists at the conference room of Faridpur Superintendent of Police office on Monday.

The new SP Md Abdul Jalil said police and journalists complement each other. You are the conscience of the nation, the mirror of the society. Many miscreants refrain from committing crimes because of your writing.

He sought the cooperation of the journalists saying you know everything about this district. We seek your full cooperation to eradicate crime from here. You can directly inform me about anything. I will take action immediately.

Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Emdad Hossian, Additional Superintendent of Police Shoilen Chakma, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali police station Md Hasanuzzaman, Traffic Inspector Mir Anwar Hossain and other officials of district police were present at that time. Faridpur Press Club president Kabirul Islam, general secretary Mahbubul Hasan Pikul, Mofiz Shipon, Panna Bala, Sanjib Das, Moniruzzaman Monir and others spoke at the meeting. Other print and media journalists were present at that time.

SP Md Abdul Jalil discussed about various social issues with the journalists at that time. He also expressed his opinion about the prevention measures regarding these issues.

During the discussion, the SP outlined his plan of action to the journalists to remove various social issues such as theft, robbery, snatching, drug abuse, along with various criminal activities. He said as long as I am in Faridpur, I will work to ensure that no one in Faridpur is deprived of legal assistance. He sought the cooperation of journalists in preventing social irregularities and urged them to assist by providing relevant information. In addition, he said that crucial role must be played so that the police stations of Faridpur can do beneficial work for people.
