A brute husband trimmed the hair of his wife making her bald as a punishment becouse a bottle of pickle broke by slipping from her hand on Thursday evening at Yousufpur village under Nandigram upazila of Bogura district. Afterwards, the inmates of the house kept the housewife confined at a room after beating her mercilessly.
On Friday morning, the housewife informed the incident to her parents when they rushed to the village and rescued her.
The hapless housewife has been identified as Marjia Akhter Rupali wife of Morshedul of Yousufpur village of Nandigram upazila.
Shaokat Kabir, Officer-in-charge of Nandigram Police station informed, on Thursday evening a bottle of pickle slipped-up from the hand of Rupali and broke away. As a result, her mother-in-law rebuked her and there was an altercation between them over the incident.
Her husband Morshedul returned home at night and hearing the complaint from his mother, he beat Rupali mercilessly and at a stage made her bald by trimming all her hair. After the incident, they kept her confined in a room. On Friday morning Rupali iformed the incident to her parents through mobile phone at Singra upazila of Natore when they rushed to the spot and rescued her from the room. Later on, police arrested Morshed from his house.
Monjuara Begum, mother of Rupali filed a case under Woman and Child Repression Repeal Act with Nandigram police station in this connection. Local people informed, Rupali was married to Morshed nine months ago. Morshed also realised Taka 150,000 as dowry from his father-in-law for purchasing of a motor-bike and for conducting a business.
