‘Humayun Faridee: An ordinarily extraordinary man’ launched on his 72nd birth anniv

To commemorate the 72nd birth anniversary of the late legendary actor Humayun Faridee, a new book titled "Humayun Faridee: An Ordinarily Extraordinary Man" is being released today. The book, edited by Ahmed Rezaur Rahman, features a cover designed by Faridee’s long-time friend, Afzal Hossain.

Humayun Faridee, who passed away on February 13, 2012, is remembered as one of Bangladesh’s most beloved actors. His friendship with Afzal Hossain, another iconic figure in Bangladeshi theatre and television, is well-known. Over the years, Hossain has often shared fond memories of Faridee, and this book is a heartfelt tribute to their bond.

The book brings together reflections from 60 prominent cultural figures who were close to Faridee. Ahmed Rezaur Rahman shared, “This book compiles the memories and experiences of those who were connected with Faridee in various ways. His friends, who witnessed his life and acting prowess, have penned their thoughts, which I have redrafted.”

Contributors include notable personalities like Imdadul Haq Milan, cultural figure Nasir Uddin Yousuff Bachchu, actor Raisul Islam Asad, and thespian Ferdousi Majumdar. Additionally, the book features writings from actors Jaya Ahsan, Afran Nisho, Jeetu Ahsan, and members of Faridee’s family.

The launch event for the book is scheduled for this evening on Channel i. The event will be attended by luminaries from the film, stage, and television industries, who will come together to remember and honor Humayun Faridee’s remarkable contributions to Bangladeshi culture.

Faridee’s legacy continues to inspire many, and this book is a testament to the lasting impact he had on those who knew him and his work. As friends, family, and fans gather to celebrate his life, "Humayun Faridee: An Ordinarily Extraordinary Man" promises to keep his memory alive for future generations.
