Amid the coronavirus crisis, kindergarten teachers and staff of Ishwardi in Pabna have organised a human chain-street meeting program to demand incentives. The human chain program was held at the city's Railgate Central Bus Terminal around 10 am on Thursday.

Uday Nath Lahiri, Headmaster of Cyrun Nesa Kindergarten, Rezaul Karim Liton, General Secretary of the Association, Mahidul Islam, Director of First Morning Kindergarten, Sheikh Mohsin, Director of Matrichhaya Kindergarten spoke on the occasion.

According to the association, there are 55 kindergartens in Ishwardi upazila. The number of teachers and staff is 600. Speakers at the road show said that thousands of teachers and employees involved in the financial crisis are living inhumane lives due to the closure of kindergarten educational institutions.

Although the government provided incentives to non-MPO teachers and staff, it did not announce incentives for kindergarten teachers and staff. They demanded immediate steps to provide financial assistance to the kindergarten teachers and staff of Ishwardi Upazila.

Later, a memorandum was issued to the Prime Minister through Ishwardi's UNO. The memorandum called for special financial incentives for teachers, easy access to bank loans, assistance in dealing with emergencies, consideration of kindergarten issues as a national issue, emphasis on kindergarten contributions to primary education and expedited registration process.
