The Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has announced a delay in the submission of HSC and equivalent exam answer sheets. In a circular issued last Thursday, the Board stated that due to "unavoidable reasons," the second phase for submitting written answer sheets, originally scheduled for July 27, has been postponed.
The new submission dates for the answer sheets are now set for August 3 and August 12. Schools and educational institutions have been requested to make necessary arrangements to comply with the updated schedule.
The postponement comes amid ongoing quota reform protests, which have previously caused disruptions to the HSC examination schedule. The exams, which began on June 30, faced several suspensions due to the protests. The Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education had initially postponed the exams on July 18. This was followed by additional postponements on July 21, 23, and 25. Consequently, the HSC and equivalent exams have been rescheduled from July 28 to August 1. To date, eight exams have been affected by these changes.
This year, approximately 14 lakh 50 thousand 790 students are participating in the HSC and equivalent exams across nine general education boards, as well as technical and madrasa boards. The disruption in the exam schedule has caused considerable concern among students and educational institutions, but the Board has assured that measures are in place to manage the situation effectively. Educational authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as necessary.
