Bangladesh SP team registered a massive 77-run win over Melbourne Renegades in their first Top End T20 series match of the Australia tour in Darwin on Sunday.
Following their 1-2 defeat to Pakistan in the 50 overs series, the HP team made their campaign in the Top End T20 series with the impressive win.
The Bangladesh team will play their second match against Tasmania tomorrow.
HP team after batting first posted a formidable 170 runs for six wickets in the 20 overs match and bundled out the Melbourne Renegades for 93 run sby 15.2 overs.
Parvez Hossain Emon played the key role in Bangladesh win when the left-handed batter smashed 69 off 48 deliveries, featuring two sixes and seven boundaries as the HP team threw the challenge to Melbourne Renegades to chase 170 runs.
Apart from Pervej Emon, lower-order batter Shamim Hossain remained unbeaten on 25 runs while the captain Akbor Akbar Ali was the other notable scorer with 21 off 18 deliveries hitting two sixes and a boundary.
National team opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim scored a rapid 17 off nine deliveries before being got out.
Replying to a formidable total, Melbourne Renegades were all out for 93 runs by 15.2 overs. Only five batters could reach double figures against disciplined pace and spin attacks. Opener Josh Brown and middle-order batter Marcus Harris scoring 18 runs each.
Pacer Ripon Mondol and spinner Rakibul Hasan shared six wickets with three wickets each while pacer Abu Hider Rony and spinner Aliss Al Islam joined the celebration taking a couple of wickets each for the HP team.
