The body of a housewife was recovered by police in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Shila Khatun, 23, wife of Rasel Ali, resident of Roakuli village in Alamdanga upazila.
Locals and the police said the locals on Monday morning saw a bloodied body of a woman lying on rail track and informed the police. Later, police recovered the body from the scene. There were injury marks from sharp weapons on the victim’s body. It was assumed that her body was left on the rail track after she was hacked to death.
Superintendent of Police Khandaker Golam Mowla, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md Anisuzzaman and other high officials of police department visited the scene in the morning. Sub-Inspector of Chuadanga Railway Police post, Masud Rana, said the body was recovered from the scene and sent to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The real reason behind her death will be known after the autopsy.
