Police have recovered the body of a housewife named Rashida Khatun (35) from a septic tank in Pakundia. Her body was recovered from the area adjacent to Sukhia Bazar in the upazila last Saturday evening.
The housewife's husband and brother-in-law have been arrested in the incident. The deceased was identified as Rashida, daughter of Motalib of Sadar upazila.
The arrested housewives' husband Md. Masud Mia (40) and brother-in-law Md. Sohel Mia (38) are residents of Sukhia village in the upazila. Sohail is a member of Ward 4 of Sukhia Union.
The accused were arrested after the victim's father Abdul Motalib lodged a written complaint with the Pakundia Police Station accusing her husband and brother-in-law.
Pakundia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Sarwar Jahan said she was believed to have been killed as a result of a family quarrel.
The deceased's husband Masud and brother-in-law Sohail have been arrested in the incident.
There are marks of injuries on the body of the deceased.
